An all-rounder that costs less and everyone already knows
The most famous AI in the world, and for good reason: it's even. Not the best at any one thing, but good at nearly everything.
For our purposes something else matters. The subscription includes Codex - a coding agent, much like Claude Code. That's an excellent deal: for one normal subscription you get both a general assistant and a working agent that can build projects.
Who I'd recommend it to: people starting out who don't want to spend much. People already used to ChatGPT who don't want to relearn. People who want one subscription for everything, from recipes to code.
They've also added a cheap entry tier - noticeably more limited, but a painless way to try without hurting your wallet.
