It's easy to get absorbed in configuring and forget why you started. A simple way to check.

Ask yourself: what did I used to explain every single time that I no longer explain? If there's an answer, the setup is working. If there isn't, you've just decorated your desk.

Signs it's going well: it knows your project structure by itself. It doesn't suggest libraries you don't have. It remembers how you name files. It doesn't ask where to deploy.

Signs you overdid it: it thinks more slowly. It occasionally reaches for the wrong tool. It answers beside the point, because there's a pile of rules sitting in context.

The cure for overdoing it is simple - switch half of it off and see. If nothing got worse, that half wasn't needed.
