AI Roadmap - 75 Steps from Zero to Shipped

stage · Upgrading your AI

34Your first three MCP servers

A starter set that covers most of it

You don't need to study a catalogue of seventeen thousand. Install these three and get on with it.

GitHub. Gives the AI access to your repositories: read code, create branches, open pull requests. Most useful first, if you're building anything at all.

Context7. Pulls in current library documentation. Cures the main affliction: the model remembers docs from a year ago and confidently recommends something that no longer exists. With this it looks at how things are today.

Playwright. Opens a browser. The AI can visit your site, click buttons, see what broke, take a screenshot. Indispensable when "everything's shifted on my screen".

Good news: most popular servers now run remotely. Nothing to install - connect by link and you're done. That used to be an evening of configuration; now it's a couple of minutes.

How to install them - ask your AI. It knows the command for your tool and will do it itself.
