I build everything on Claude, this site included, so take this as a user's review rather than a neutral one. Anthropic's lineup: Haiku for quick cheap jobs, Sonnet 5 as the everyday workhorse, Opus 5.5 (September 2026) as the heavy hitter with a million-token context, and Fable on top, the strongest model open to the public, available in full on the Max plan. What sets it apart is how it holds a long task and how honestly it pushes back when a request is a bad idea. Claude Code is the agent that lives in your project: it reads and edits files, runs commands and fixes its own errors, in the terminal or in the Code tab of the desktop app. Pro costs $20 a month and includes Claude Code, but if you work in it all day the limits run out fast, and serious daily work realistically means Max from $100 a month. The free tier is fine for trying it out.
