Zhipu AI's platform, home of the GLM models. GLM-5.3 (August 2026) is one of the strongest open-weight models around: good at code, agent work and long tasks, and close to the paid leaders on many of them. The chat at chat.z.ai is free with rate limits. The real hook for builders is the GLM Coding Plan: from $18 a month you get GLM inside Claude Code, Cline, OpenCode and other agents, with generous limits. The weights are open too, so other providers host it and you can self-host if you have the hardware. If a Claude or ChatGPT subscription is out of budget but you want a real coding agent, this is one of the best deals going.
