Moonshot AI's assistant made its name on massive documents - throw in a 200-page PDF or a stack of papers and it keeps track of all of it. In July 2026 it grew up: Kimi K3 is a huge open-weight model (around 2.8 trillion parameters) that debuted third in the world on the Artificial Analysis ranking, right behind the leaders. It's strong at code, agent tasks and long analysis, and it plugs into coding agents through the API. Less known in the West, hugely popular in Asia. The chat at kimi.com is free with generous limits, and the API is far cheaper than the American flagships. If you're tired of other models forgetting what was on page 3, give it a shot.
