Reve

An image generator that made its name on photorealism: its pictures regularly pass for real photos. Reve 2.0 (June 2026) changed the approach - it builds an image as a structured layout where every element can be moved and edited on its own, renders in native 4K and handles text well; at launch it ranked second on the Arena text-to-image leaderboard. Worth knowing: in July 2026 OpenAI invested in the company, part of the research team moved to OpenAI, and in August the API was shut down. The app at reve.com keeps working, with a free tier for experiments and paid plans for more generations. If you need images that look real rather than artsy, it's still one of the best, just don't build your product on its API.
